S&S Pet Cremation was founded in 2015.
Our mission is to provide professional, honest, respectful, & compassionate cremation aftercare services to both grieving pet families and veterinary service providers.

Jared & Megan
Jared Schmitt earned an Associates Degree in Large Animal Veterinary Technology from NICC in Peosta, IA and had a long career at Adams Pet Hospital. Megan Schmitt is an RN who has worked for Hospice of Dubuque since 2008. She is also the Mayor of Centralia, IA. Jared & Megan live on the same property as S&S Pet Cremation with their four kids-Alexis, Jackson, Sullivan & Lincoln. They also have 3 dogs, 1 cat, 2 skinny pigs, and a three legged toad.
Ken & Carol
Ken Schmitt retired from a distinguished career in the roofing industry. He has an Associate’s degree in Business Management. Carol Schmitt recently retired after 33 years with the Dubuque & Western Dubuque Community School Districts. She has a Master’s Degree in Education. Ken & Carol are the parents to Jared Schmitt and Maureen Waskow and they live in Dubuque with their dog Wrigley
Terry & Maureen
Terry Waskow has an Associate’s degree in General Studies from NICC in Peosta, IA. He has worked for Spahn & Rose lumber company since 2008. Maureen Waskow is a classroom teacher & has been with the Dubuque Community School district since 2002. She has a Master’s degree in Education. Terry & Maureen live in Dubuque with their two kids Alice & Trent and their dog Moxie Sue.
